Videogames upward

Only 6% of the top selling games are violent
The Association of Retailers and editors of Entertainment Software (ADES) has granted for the seventh consecutive year the awards to reward the best-selling video games of 2007. The ill winds of crisis does not seem to affect an industry whose sales reached a value of 1454 billion euros. The way the game is that, in the past year, 33% more titles have reached the number of units sold to qualify for these industry awards. In total, 72 games have been rewarded for ADES thanks to its sales in 2007. Six of them have received the Award of Double Platinum, to overcome the 160,000 copies sold, 23 others have won the Disc Platinum (over 80,000 copies) and, finally, 43 more have achieved the Gold, with over 40,000 units in the market.
The prizes are different for each format, and given the fact that a game can be achieved several awards. This is the case of 'Fifa 08'. This simulator football has been the undisputed best of 2007, with double-disc platinum and platinum on PS2 in the PS3 and Playstation Portable. After football, games and social action headed the list of blockbusters. The two titles in the saga of karaoke SingStar (and Latin Pop Hits) have reached double-platinum awards each, along with action games such as wrestling franchise of American WWF Smackdown Vs Raw 'or the spectacular Assasins Creed. Other sagas such as Call of Duty 4 have achieved triple gold in various platforms.
For platforms, consoles will be strengthened as the leaders of the PC sales compared with nearly 82% of the video game winners. Contrary to what might be thinking, the more violent video games are not the best sellers. Just 6% of the games winners have been classified as' only for adults over 18 years' and children's franchises such as "Imagine being ', Ubisoft, has achieved all its games to reach gold, platinum or double platinum in the case Imagine being the mom.
Piracy does not seem to affect the sector with so much force as is believed, and for the first time in the history of these awards, the awards were handed ADES under the II International Forum on Digital Contents (FICOD) organized by the Ministry of Industry , Tourism and Trade.
This edition of the awards for the video game industry confirms a trend increasingly visible: the momentum gained by the titles of musical themes as Guitar Hero III, High School Musical or SingStar Pop Hits and SingStar Latino, the last two title winners with Double Platinum. The consoles are increasingly appliances designed for the enjoyment group and the music is an irresistible attraction for many casual players. Konami, and it showed in his days with the saga of games Dance Dance Dance Revolution and Sony continued to the wire with its SingStar karaoke.
The trendy music does not stop there, Xbox just to market an advanced karaoke called Lips, in which the wisdom of the user at the time of singing following the rhythm should be combined or dancing, thanks to its motion-sensitive microphones. Nintendo, meanwhile, is preparing for the launch of Wii Music, a simulator in which the chameleon command of the Wii turns into dozens of different musical instruments. Guitar Hero is already a classic and has now been remastered edition with the On Tour, which adds drums and vocals ala guitar.
